Waiting for orders

We got the command sponsorship approval (what allows the family to go with the soldier) a few months ago, and yet we are still waiting on the orders. Jason got a copy of his orders that state that he is going to Korea, but for some reason they are taking forever to print out the amendment to his orders that state that we are going with him. This is such a pain because without those amendments we are not able to arrange for transportation to come get all of our stuff or get our travel arrangements. It is just amazing to me that we are expected to report to Korea in little over two months and we are not able to start any of the official preparations. Up until today we have been calling the office once a week to check on them and they have been brushing us off. Today I decided that I am going to politely bug the crap out of them each day until the amendments are in our hands. I would love to go in there and throw a fit, but these are the people who hold onto our passports until we are ready to leave. I would hate for them to “loose” our passports in retaliation. So I will have to be kindly annoying until I get what I want and then when we have completely cleared the post file a complaint about them. When I talked to the lady today she told me that she was still working on printing out amendments for people who are leaving in June. If that is the case then there is no way that we are the only family in this mess. This is the part that I hate the most about the Army: hurry up and wait. Every other time we have moved it has been a smooth and relatively easy transition, but our biggest move ever seems to be starting off on the wrong foot. We have soooooo much to do and so little time to do it, and we cannot even get started without those amendments.
